This is the question that popped up in my email last week - “I know to convert Olm to Mac Mail, I could drop the folders to desktop and they will turn to Mbox format. But is that the most recommended way? I noticed this method of conversion doesn't perform effectively”

The sender of this email is right. Although, it is a free solution for conversion of data, but it is definitely not effective. And it is not at all viable for big databases. It leads to incomplete conversion, and even data loss in some cases. If your emails contain a lot of information, and there are many emails under many folders, you may not want to go down that path.

I personally respond to such emails to the best of my knowledge. But I noticed that this issue of Olm to Mac Mail migration is a big issues and not many know the proper solution. Take for instance, one of the comments I saw in a blog few days from today-

“I dragged the folders from Outlook to Mac desktop, but I noticed that the folders in Apple Mail were incomplete. Some were complete empty and the attachments were lost too.
